Job summary

Arc Hospice & Palliative Care is seeking a Full-Time Hospice Aide (CNA) to deliver compassionate personal care and comfort to patients in their homes and licensed facilities across Lake and Sumter counties.

Work is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM with occasional weekends or after-hours support. The role emphasizes dignity, safety, empathy, and collaborative care under supervision of the RN Case Manager or Director of Clinical Services.

Qualifications

• Active CNA in good standing with appropriate state certification.
• CPR certification current and valid.
• Ability to read and follow written care instructions.
• Strong empathy and ability to support hospice patients and families.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral hygiene.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers, repositioning, ROM as directed.
• Observe/report changes to supervising nurse promptly.
• Assist with meals, hydration, and feeding per care plan.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to patients and families.
• Record vital signs when trained and assigned.
• Maintain a clean, safe patient environment and assist with light tasks.
• Provide respite to family caregivers during visits as appropriate.
• Document care per agency procedures and timelines.
• Follow infection control and HIPAA guidelines; participate in trainings.
