Job summary

SSC Services for Education, a Compass Group company, is hiring a full-time Groundskeeper at Greensboro College in Greensboro, NC. The role supports grounds and plant maintenance, mowing, trimming, and basic janitorial tasks.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with weather-related duties and potential openings at other school district locations. Prior groundskeeping experience is preferred, with a pay range of $14.50–$15.00 per hour and benefits after probation.

Qualifications

• Valid Non-CDL Class C driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality customer service to customers by one-on-one attention.
• Inspects common areas and reports deficiencies to Maintenance Supervisor.
• Inspects exterior of the property and grounds; reports deficiencies to Maintenance Supervisor.
• Mows lawns weekly during the proper season.
• Cleans landscaping tools and equipment after each use.
• Trims bushes to maintain neat appearance.
• Weeds flowerbeds weekly or more often if needed.
• Shovels exterior walkways during wintery weather; salts or sands icy walkways as needed.
• Contributes to the team; facilitates good customer interactions; exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow employees and others with whom there is contact.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
