Job summary

Bryant University is seeking a Grounds Worker to support maintenance and repair of lawns, walks, roads, parking lots, gardens and other grounds on campus. Responsibilities include routine cleaning, shoveling snow, operating trucks and power equipment, loading/unloading, assisting trades people, and performing minor painting and related duties.

Requires 4+ years of grounds/landscaping experience or equivalent education; also requires a RI Class 2 Driver’s License; pesticide licensure preferred;

Qualifications

• 4+ years of commercial grounds and/or landscaping / snow removal experience, or equivalent education.
• Must be able to perform tasks requiring physical strength; good hand-eye coordination; and complete several tasks in specified time frames without supervision.
• Ability to read, write and understand directions; valid RI Class 2 license required.

Responsibilities

• Routine cleaning of grounds; shoveling snow; operating trucks and power equipment.
• Leveling ground; hauling and spreading topsoil; pruning and removing trees/branches as needed.
• Digging ditches with pick/shovel; moving furniture and equipment; loading/unloading trucks and trailers.
• Assisting trades people and performing minor painting; other related duties as assigned.
