Job summary

Lovelace Medical Group Independence Square in Albuquerque, NM seeks a self-motivated General Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a growing surgical team. The position features an inpatient/outpatient mix, Mon-Fri, 8-5, and Epic EMR (Ambience AI tool).

The successful candidate will manage pre- and post-operative patients, collaborate with physicians, and deliver compassionate, patient-centered care with strong documentation habits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner or physician assistant program
• Current licensure in the state of New Mexico
• Must obtain DEA registration and NM Board of Pharmacy prescriptive authority by start
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
• Experience in medical weight management preferred

Lovelace Medical Group is seeking a self-motivated General Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing Lovelace family in beautiful Albuquerque, New Mexico.

About the Position:

Lovelace Medical Group Independence Square

• Join a surgical team of 6 physicians and 2 APP’s
• Inpatient and Outpatient mix
• Daily Patient Average: 18-24 on clinic days
• Mon-Fri, 8-5
• EMR: Epic (Ambience AI tool)

Required Skills/Procedures

Demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment. Candidates should be comfortable managing pre- and post-operative patients, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, maintaining accurate documentation, and providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities are essential for success in this role.

Candidate Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner or physician assistant program
