Job summary

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Engineer to uphold and repair hotel systems and craft across our historic boutique property. You will manage HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fixtures, ensuring safety and guest comfort while collaborating with the Maintenance team.

You should be able to work evenings and weekends, with flexibility for holidays. This role offers growth within Marcus Hotels & Resorts and benefits after a short eligibility period.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as hotel engineer or comparable maintenance experience.
• Flexible schedule; able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all equipment, systems and building components including HVAC, pumps, refrigeration, plumbing, locks, furniture, paint, wall coverings, tile and other equipment.
• Build, repairs, and paints all parts of the hotel.
• Install and replaces lighting fixtures and bulbs.
• Clean carpets and rugs.
• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
• Listen for unusual sounds from machines to diagnose issues with supervisors.
• Dismantle defective machines and install repaired parts.
• Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment.
• Fabricate and repairs furniture and fixtures.
• Attend training classes and meetings.
• Paint corridors, hotel rooms, and lobby areas.
• Transport heavy boxes within the hotel for maintenance.
• Assist in delivering and setup of new equipment.
• Communicate with Maintenance Supervisor on projects.
• Respond to customer requests timely.

What will you be doing?

• Nights and Weekends are required*

Responsibilities include maintaining all equipment, systems and building components including, but not limited to; mechanical and electrical systems, pumps, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, locks, furniture, paint, wall coverings, tile and other equipment.

• Build, repairs, and paints all parts of the hotel.
• Install and replaces lighting fixtures and bulbs.
• Clean carpets and rugs.
• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
• Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
• Dismantle defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
• Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment.
• Fabricate and repairs furniture and fixtures.
• Attend all scheduled training classes and meetings.
• Paint corridors, hotel rooms, and lobby areas when necessary.
• Transport heavy boxes and packages within the hotel for maintenance and repairs.
• Assist in delivering and setup of all new equipment such as televisions, mattresses, tables, chairs, etc.
• Communicate with Maintenance Supervisor on projects as assigned.
• Respond to all customer requests in a timely and personable manner.

• Previous experience as a hotel engineer is preferred or comparable maintenance experience at an establishment such as apartment complex or office building.
