Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a dedicated dockworker to load and unload freight, using forklifts and manual methods while following safety procedures. The role requires attention to detail in securing shipments and accurately reading shipping labels to ensure on-time deliveries.

In this full-time position, you will work in a busy service center, coordinate with colleagues, and help maintain efficient warehouse operations under DOT guidelines.

Qualifications

Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in safe and efficient lifting and transporting procedures.
Familiar with freight movement forms and yard management systems.

Responsibilities

Load and unload freight on trailers using forklifts or manually per DOT guidelines.
Transport personnel and freight within the service center across surfaces.
Monitor freight locations using the yard management system.
Read shipping labels and complete forms for freight movement as needed.
Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, or cling materials.
Ensure proper loading quality and meet customer pickup/delivery schedules.
