Job summary

Alternatives, Inc. is seeking a Full-time Floater Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Monmouth and Ocean Counties, NJ.

The role involves assisting residents with daily living, medication administration, transportation, and implementing behavioral plans. You will participate in trainings, enjoy competitive pay of $25.00 per hour with a $2/hour weekend differential, and benefit from mileage reimbursement and health

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks and a drug screen.
• Clear tuberculosis (TB) screening.
• Ability to pass and maintain trainings such as CPR/First Aid, medication administration, and positive behavioral support.
• Basic computer skills.
• Experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist adults with daily living activities and independence.
• Administer medications and coordinate transportation to appointments.
• Support implementation of individual behavioral plans.
• Provide teaching and mentoring to develop new skills and promote community participation.
• Report health and safety concerns and keep documentation up to date.
