Job summary

The Susquehanna Regional Transportation Authority (SRTA) is seeking a full-time Mechanic to maintain its fleet at the Gettysburg location. The role emphasizes diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and on-site repairs to keep vehicles in safe, compliant condition.

Salary ranges from $20.00 to $24.00 per hour with weekly pay and a full benefits package including health, dental, vision, a SEP, paid holidays and time off. Training may require travel and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years as maintenance technician diagnosing and repairing medium/heavy-duty vehicles.
• Ability to travel for organizational needs.
• Must possess own hand tools and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for daily assignments by reviewing work orders and being available for overtime.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with state/federal regulations.
• Maintain written records and report maintenance status to management.
• Respond to road calls and coordinate towing when needed.
