Job summary

The City of Saint Charles Fire Department is seeking a Firefighter/Paramedic to perform fire and rescue operations and deliver advanced emergency medical care.

This full‑time, non‑exempt position requires responding to emergencies, maintaining equipment, and contributing to training and public safety education. The City offers comprehensive benefits and an eligibility process for staffing; CPAT and state certifications are required at hire.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid state driver's license.
• Certification requirements must be met at time of hire.
• CPAT exam required; CPAT card valid for one year.
• MO Paramedic License required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform fire/rescue operations and provide advanced medical care.
• Respond to emergency calls and assist in rescue of persons.
• Maintain equipment and building readiness.
• Prepare reports as required by the Fire Department.
• Provide medical training and equipment instruction to personnel.
