Job summary

3M HEALTHCARE in the United States is seeking an experienced EMT/Paramedic to provide critical pre-hospital and in-hospital support. You will assess patients, deliver emergency care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires licensure, NREMT registration, and current BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications. You will perform documentation and ensure safety, privacy, and compliance during dynamic, fast-paced operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an approved EMT/Paramedic Program.
  • Licensed in the state of practice as an EMT/Paramedic.
  • Registered with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians as an EMT/Paramedic.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Current Driver’s License Class D in state of practice.
  • Completion of Defensive Driving Course within 30 days of hire.
  • Completion of Haz‑Mat Awareness Training.

Responsibilities

  • Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria appropriate to the ages of patients served in assigned areas.
  • Provides customer service to patients, families and staff.
  • Participates in activities for professional development, maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training and credentials and assumes responsibility for maintaining knowledge of departmental policies/procedures.
  • Demonstrates responsibility for the proper safekeeping and use of the advanced life support items used along with supervising other emergency personnel who may be present at the scene providing patient care.
  • Performs intake of medical history, performs physical exams, controls bleeding, provides airway control, restores and maintains circulation.
  • Consistently provides acutely correct and accurate documentation of patient care delivered to ensure accurate processing of billing to remain in compliance of departmental guidelines.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
