Job summary

Queensbury Union Free School District is seeking a full-time Maintenance Worker to perform routine and preventive maintenance on district buildings and systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and related trades. This 12-month position offers growth and stability in a school environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and two years of general building maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and related trades.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance and operate building systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment, including HVAC, envelopes, roofs, plumbing, lighting, doors and hardware.
• Performs scheduled preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment; inspects belts, fluids, filters, bearings and seals.
• Inspects building systems for proper operation (daily/weekly/monthly) and repairs as needed.
• Operates Building Management System (BMS) and tracks work orders for maintenance tasks.
• Installs and services electrical wiring, doors, locks, CCTV, PA and security systems.
• Responds to emergency maintenance requests and assists with renovations/remodeling projects.
• Maintains records of receipts and maintenance activities; may assist with snow removal and grounds tasks.
