Job summary

Applitrack is seeking a Permanent Substitute Teacher for elementary grades in the North Babylon Union Free School District. The role is for the 2026-2027 school year, based at Woods Road Elementary School, with a 2026-2027 anticipated vacancy and a 09/30/2026 start date.

The successful candidate will provide instructional support across multiple subject areas and grades, reporting daily to the building and covering for absent teachers. Strong classroom management and adaptability are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid NY state teaching certification (any content area).
• Prior classroom experience preferred.
• Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage for classroom teachers during absences.
• Implement lesson plans or deliver prepared instructional materials.
• Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
• Assist with supervision duties across the school day (hallways, cafeteria, arrival/dismissal, etc).
• Be flexible to work in a variety of classrooms and with different student needs.
