Job description

The Mt. Lebanon School District is seeking applicants for aPersonal Care Assistant position at Lincoln Elementary School.
This is an assignment in an elementary emotional support classroom.

This is a full-time, on-site, permanent position working directly with students with special needs throughout the educational setting.
Personal Care Assistants provide support in the academic, social/emotional, and behavioral development of students in accordance with anIndividualized Education Program (IEP) by:

• Engaging with students and staff
• Performing instructional support tasks like supervision, tutoring, and coaching
• Performing behavioral support tasks like communicating positive expectations, prompting/signaling, and redirecting
• Performing clerical support tasks like organizingmaterials and recording progress and observations

Schedule:
Monday-Friday
Anticipated 8:10 AM - 3:40 PM(7 hours/day plus a 30 minute unpaid lunch)
190 days during the regular school year (summers, weekends and holidays off)

Rates:
Starting wages are either $16.23per hour (approx. $21,585 annual) or $16.33per hour (approx. $21,718 annual), for new hires to the District, depending upon previous school district experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

In order to be eligible for instructional paraprofessional positions, the applicant must meetthe following criteria:
Be a high school graduate or possess a GED,
AND
1) Have completed at least two (2) years of postsecondary study,
OR
2) Possess an Associates degree or higher,
OR
3) Complete a series of job-based trainings during the first year of employment, and continuing education credit hours during subsequent years
