Job summary

YMCA Butler seeks an Assistant Teacher to assist in education, supervision and care of children in the Early Learning Center. You will help implement curriculum, plan daily activities, and engage with families to support child development.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, DHS clearances, and 2,500 hours with children. CPR/First Aid is required within 60 days, with benefits including insurance, PTO, and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• FBI Clearance
• PA Child Abuse History Clearance
• PA State Police Clearance
• NSOR Certificate
• Health Assessment with TB screening
• Verification of 2,500 hours working with children
• Minimum age 18
• High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience with children OR High School diploma plus 15 credits in related field and 1 year of experience
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification within 60 days of employment by PQAS trainer

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing the curriculum within established guidelines
• Assist with daily lesson and activity plans
• Maintain consistent communication with parents
• Supervise children, classroom, and activities
• Conduct ongoing child observations and evaluations

• Maintain clean, safe, and organized spaces

• Maintain relationships with parents
• Maintain DHS qualifications for working in Child Care
