Job summary

Taft College seeks a dedicated CDC Teacher to supervise classrooms for children aged 0–6 and plan developmentally appropriate activities. You will work with assistants and practicum students to create a nurturing, instructional setting that supports growth and family engagement.

The role requires a California Child Development Teacher permit, pediatric CPR/first aid certification, and full compliance with licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Possess a valid Child Development Teacher permit from the CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).
• Special licenses/certifications: pediatric CPR and first aid, and CDSS licensing requirements.
• Bilingual: Spanish/English desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom supervision and curriculum planning for children 0-6 years old.
• Coordinate activities and supervise assistant/associate teachers and practicum students.
• Enforce health and safety standards and maintain student records and assessments.
• Observe and document child development; conduct parent conferences.
• Prepare curriculum, lesson plans, and teaching materials; ensure a safe, engaging environment.
