This is the kind of DSP role where noticing the small things can be a very big deal.
PCGH is hiring a full-time Direct Support Professional for one of our Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) residential programs. The adults supported in our ICF homes have some of the most significant medical and personal-care needs within the agency, so this position involves real, hands-on support and close attention to each person's health, comfort and daily routine.
You do not need to be a nurse to do this work. You do need to be dependable, observant, comfortable providing personal care and willing to learn the details that help each person stay safe and well.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday: 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Every other Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Opportunities to pick up additional hours may also be available for employees who want them.
Starting Pay: $14.00+ per hour
Higher starting rates may be available based on experience and placement.
What does "ICF" mean for the DSP?
It means the people you support may have more involved medical, mobility and personal-care needs than residents in some of our other programs. You'll work closely with nursing, clinical staff and your DSP team while following detailed care instructions, physician orders and individualized support plans.
The work is hands-on
Who tends to do well here?
Someone who pays attention, follows through and understands that good direct care is often found in details that are easy to miss. Someone who can work confidently as part of a team, communicate when something changes and stay steady when a person needs more support than expected.
Previous experience in ICF services, healthcare, assisted living, long-term care, disability services, CNA work or another hands-on caregiving setting is helpful, but it is not required. PCGH provides paid training and required certifications.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, be legally eligible to drive in North Carolina and be willing to drive an agency vehicle when needed.
The position requires the ability to lift up to 35 pounds independently and assist with transfers of individuals weighing up to 250 pounds.
