Job summary

Kolmac Integrated Behavioral Health in Brooklyn, NY is seeking an experienced Dispensing Nurse to monitor patient needs and support medical care at the OTP clinic. You will work with the Nurse Manager, Medical Director and Clinical Supervisor to ensure complete medical records and proper dispensing of medications.

The role requires an LPN license in Maryland, CPR certification, and at least 1 year of medication-assisted treatment experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed in Maryland as an LPN.
• 1 year of experience in medication assisted treatment.
• CPR certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet every patient and verify identity and medication using two identifiers.
• Ensure medical services comply with Federal, State, CARF, and COMAR standards.
• Manage medication inventory and dispense medications per protocol.
• Process medical orders and perform physical exams/evaluations as required.
• Maintain accurate medical records and file documentation within 24 hours.
• Collect specimens and coordinate referrals and dosage verification.

Job description

We are currently in search of an experienced Dispensing Nurse for our Brooklyn, MD location.The Dispensing Nurse at Kolmac Integrated Behavioral Health and all its subsidiaries ("Kolmac" or the "Company") isresponsible for the daily monitoring of patient’s needs and care of all patients reporting to the OTP clinic. This person works with the Nurse Manager, Medical Director and Clinical Supervisor to ensure appropriate medical care for patients. This individual is also responsible for the completeness of all medical aspects of the medical record. The Dispensing Nurse is responsible for dispensing any medications the clinic may utilize in the treatment of patients.

Schedule : Full time | Hours between 4:30a-2p; rotating Saturdays

Responsibilities

• Performs all duties within regularly scheduled hours
• Greets each patient to confirm identity and proper medication using two patient identifiers
• Responsible for medical services to be in compliance with Federal, State, CARF, and COMAR regulations/standards
• Manages medication Inventory
• Dispenses medication according to protocol
• Processes medical orders
• Performs physical examinations and medical evaluations on clients as required
• Recalls conducted in accordance with program protocol
• Maintains accurate records. Submits and files all documentation within 24 hours of event
• Collects specimens and submits / processes appropriately
• Participates in review of new, readmissions and transfer clients
• Provides intervention in crisis situations
• Assists Charge Nurse in daily program operation
• Assesses clients for treatment needs and interventions
• Interacts with outside agencies for referrals, dosage verification, and other elements of coordination of care. Represents the agency professionally in person as well as over the phone
• Delivers medication as needed
• Maintains a cooperative and positive attitude and approach to patients, staff and visitors

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• Licensed within the state of Maryland as an LPN
• 1 year experience in medication assisted treatment
• CPR certified within 3 months of hire
• Will be required to submit to PPD screening or provide record of screening from previous employer within the past year

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $28 an hour to $33 an hour. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, licensure, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
