Job summary

State of Ohio in Cambridge, OH seeks a Direct Support/Direct Care professional to assist residents with daily living activities, participate in active treatments, and support planning and shopping tasks. The role requires adherence to documentation, safety, and care standards in a 24/7 environment.

Position is permanent, full-time with variable hours; compensation is $23.28 per hour. Applicants may be exposed to unpredictable resident behavior and overtime is required per policy.

Qualifications

• Formal education in arithmetic and English reading/writing/speaking.
• High school diploma or equivalent per Ohio Administrative Code 5123:2-3-01(F).
• STNA certification or listed on Ohio Nurse Aide Registry (if applicable).
• Valid driver's license with 5 or fewer points.

Responsibilities

• Assists with eating, bathing, toileting, personal hygiene, and grooming.
• Implements active treatment activities in gym, pavilion, activity room, and pool.
• Assists with planning and shopping activities (e.g., shopping, vocational skills, hair appointments).
• Completes daily/monthly documentation, including incident reports or medication reactions.
• Performs light housekeeping in living areas.
• Assists with redirecting unsafe actions to a positive outcome.
