Job summary

UF Health Central Florida, part of the University of Florida, seeks a full-time Diagnostic Cardiologist to provide and manage direct patient care within the UF Health Regional Network.

The physician will diagnose and treat a broad range of cardiovascular conditions, collaborate with pharmacists, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff, and participate in quality improvement and credentialing processes across Lake and Marion counties.

Qualifications

• Active Florida medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure before hire.
• Board certification in cardiology preferred.
• Federal DEA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide and manage direct patient care including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment.
• Review incoming reports (labs, imaging, EKG) and follow up in a timely manner.
• Prescribe medications and treatment regimens as appropriate to patient conditions.
• Refer patients to specialists and relevant care components; coordinate with healthcare team.
• Participate in program or unit management and coordinate nursing staff as needed.
• Engage in ongoing quality assurance, protocol updates and health promotion activities.
