Job summary

UF Health Central Florida is seeking a full-time Diagnostic Cardiologist to provide and manage direct patient care, including exams, assessments, diagnoses, and treatments in the Lake/Sumter/Marion region.

The role emphasizes collaboration with pharmacists, NP and nursing staff, review of diagnostic reports, and participation in QA, meetings, and improvement initiatives within UF Health.

Qualifications

• Florida Medical License or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• Board certification in area of practice preferred.
• Credentialing and privileging requirements must be met.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with healthcare team to provide direct patient care.
• Review incoming reports (lab, imaging) and follow up promptly.
• Prescribe medications and treatment plans as appropriate.
• Refer patients to specialists and other care components as needed.
• Manage daily operations of a medical program or unit when required.
• Coordinate patient care with nursing and support staff.
• Adhere to departmental policies and quality/safety protocols.
• Participate in health promotion and prevention programs.
• Attend peer review, quality assurance, and provider meetings.
• Assist in updating practice protocols as requested.
