Job summary

Good Samaritan in Jackson, MN is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to keep patient rooms and public areas clean and safe. You will follow infection control guidelines and operate cleaning equipment to maintain a sanitary environment.

The role involves lifting up to 40-50 lbs, working a 30-hour week on day shifts, and rotating weekends/holidays. Prior housekeeping in healthcare is preferred; on-site work is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and common areas.
• Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, waxing, and polishing floors.
• Move and lift up to 40-50 lbs and operate cleaning equipment.
• Follow infection control, safety and procedural guidelines.
• Keep storage, equipment and carts clean and neatly organized.
