Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Texas driver license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived.
• Prior correctional experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Search for contraband and provide security.
• Count, feed and supervise non-citizens in housing and work areas.
• Provide custody and security of non-citizens including observation.
• Perform security of various assigned areas.
• Conduct pat-down and strip searches as needed, including climbing stairs.
• Transfer and transport non-citizens by walking or in vehicles; restrain assaultive individuals.
• Work rotating shifts and all posts assignments.
• Maintain custody and observation for long periods.
• Make periodic rounds of assigned area, including long walking/standing.
