Legacy Charter School is seeking a full-time Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at our Chicago facilities. The role requires hard work, attention to detail, and the ability to perform physical tasks with independence.

We offer a competitive hourly salary of $19–$21, commensurate with experience, and a supportive team committed to high standards of cleanliness and safety for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Previous custodial/janitorial experience is required.
• Knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment and chemical disposal.
• Very good physical condition and strength.
• High school diploma is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture, and dusting surfaces
• Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets
• Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks, and showers, and restock disposables (e.g., soap)
• Wipe mirrors and windows and maintain outer premises by cleaning entrances, trash pick-up, etc.
• Report damages to the engineer and assist where needed
• Secure facilities after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows, and setting up the alarm
• Undertake other occasional custodial and janitorial tasks (shoveling snow from the sidewalk, lifting heavy items, moving chairs, etc.)

General Summary

Legacy Charter School is seeking a passionate and student-centered Diverse Learner Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. We are looking for an educator who is committed to providing scholars with IEPs rigorous academic experiences that prepare them for success with grade-level and above-grade-level content through consistent, joyful, social-emotional, and cognitive learning experiences.

Legacy Charter School is a high-performing public charter school serving approximately 468 scholars in Kindergarten through 8th grade in Chicago’s North Lawndale neighborhood. Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable full-time Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in our facilities. The Custodian is responsible for the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the building, both inside and out. The ideal candidate is hardworking, detail-oriented, and takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Previous custodial or building maintenance experience is preferred, along with the ability to perform physical tasks and work independently.

Compensation

Salary for this position is competitive and depends on prior experience.
