Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an AANA-accredited nurse anesthesia program.
• License as an APRN in the state of practice.

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Documents patient procedures and incidents.
• Assesses patient before, during, and after administering anesthesia.
• Ensures patient safety and administers anesthesia per accepted techniques.
• Acts as liaison to surgeons, anesthesiologists, co-workers, patients and families.
• Participates in department quality assurance and professional development.
• Adapts communication and care to the patient population.
