Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to administer anesthesia under physician supervision in surgical and obstetric procedures. Masters in nurse anesthesia and an APRN license are required, with AANA certification and BCLS.

Strong communication and patient-safety focus are essential. Will work in a collaborative, on-site setting with residents, fellows, attendings, and staff.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nurse anesthesia from an accredited program.
• APRN license in the state of practice.
• Certification through AANA and BCLS required.

Responsibilities

• Documents patient procedures and incidents.
• Assesses patient before, during, and after administering anesthesia.
• Ensures patient safety and administers anesthesia following accepted practice techniques.
• Acts as liaison to surgeons, anesthesiologists, co-workers, patients and families.
• Participates in department quality assurance and professional development activities.
• Adapts communication and approach to diverse patient populations.
• Performs other related duties as required.
