Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA, is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students living in the home.

Responsibilities include daily supervision, routines, medications, driving to activities, devotions, chapel services, and budgeting/reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years
• Both spouses aged 27 or older
• No more than three dependent children in home
• Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
• Pets allowed: fish and one dog of approved breeds
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to drive student home vans
• Leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel (proselytizing prohibited)
• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff as role models for students

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship
• Managing household routines and student schedules
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
• Driving students to activities and planning development and recreation
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
