Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, seeks married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes and supervise 8–13 students, guiding their academic, emotional and social development in a family-like setting.

Responsibilities include supervision, scheduling, meds administration, driving to activities, daily devotions, budgeting, and a transitioning pathway to a placed houseparent. A rewarding, long-term life-changing career awaits qualified couples.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship for students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and ensure student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and engage in developmental and recreational activities.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
• Begin in multiple student homes with a nine-on / three-off schedule, then transition to a placed home with the same group of students.
