Job summary

Firefly is seeking a Direct Support Professional (Caregiver) in Bolivar, Missouri to assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities. No experience is required; we provide free training and a compassionate environment to help clients achieve independence.

You will support daily living tasks, promote community participation, and work with families and staff to document progress. A team-oriented, respectful culture awaits with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Good communication and people skills.
• Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license (if applicable).
• Pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Help developmentally disabled clients in their homes and communities.
• Help clients access community resources and participate in social activities.
• Provide transportation to clients for appointments and shopping.
• Teach clients to live independently (cooking, cleaning, money management).
• Help clients with daily tasks (personal care, hygiene).
• Write notes about client progress and achievements.
• Communicate client progress with clients, families, and staff.
• Follow the client's Individual Support Plan (ISP).
• Attend meetings and training sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
