Job summary

Kernodle Clinic’s OB/GYN department in Burlington is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to join our busy team. This full-time role combines office care with hospital call, delivering comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic services.

All CNM candidates must graduate from an accredited nurse-midwifery program, hold current CNM certification and NC licensure (or be eligible), and maintain BLS. Join a collaborative, community-focused practice with strong growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nurse-midwifery program.
• Current CNM certification and North Carolina licensure (or eligibility).
• Current BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial and ongoing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment; perform exams and prescribe medications.
• Rotate assigned call at the hospital; postpartum rounds, birthplace assessments, admissions and discharges.
• Prescribe medications in compliance with the DEA and NC Board of Medicine for APNs.
• Provide patient health education; address questions regarding medications and outcomes.
• Comply with OSHA, infection control and safety policies; participate in drills and emergencies.
• Consult with MD as needed regarding patients issues and plans of care.
• Order and schedule laboratory and diagnostic tests with follow-up on abnormal results.
