Job summary

Arc Community Services in Madison, WI seeks a SUD Clinical Supervisor for residential programs to lead clinical services, mentor staff, and ensure high-quality, trauma-informed care for women in recovery.

You will oversee SUD clinical operations, supervise staff, develop trainings, and ensure DHS 75 compliance, Medicaid readiness, and accurate documentation, while collaborating with Medical Director and Program Manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in SUD Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Counseling, Behavioral Science, or closely related field.
  • Wisconsin ICS credential preferred; active WI license holders considered for SUD supervision.
  • Five years of clinical experience; at least three years in supervision/leadership; experience in SUD treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all SUD clinical aspects of the residential treatment programs.
  • Provide individual and group SUD supervision and documentation review.
  • Consult with staff and Program Manager on client treatment challenges.
  • Lead staff staffing processes and supervise clinical staff with Program Manager.
  • Ensure DHS 75 and survey oversight compliance.
  • Coordinate internship program and Medicaid training.
  • Maintain oversight of client charts and documentation standards.

What You Will Do

These responsibilities focus on SUD clinical leadership, staff supervision, program development, and regulatory compliance.

SUD Clinical Leadership & Oversight
  • Oversee all SUD clinical aspects of the residential treatment programs
  • Provide individual and group SUD clinical supervision and documentation review for treatment staff
  • Offer consultation to staff and Program Manager on client treatment challenges
  • Facilitate and oversee client staffing processes
  • Ensure compliance with DHS 75 and survey oversight
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director as appropriate
  • Meet with clients as needed to support care and oversight
Staff Supervision & Program Administration
  • Supervise clinical staff in partnership with the Program Manager
  • Support SUD Counselor hiring, onboarding, and retention of SUD program staff
  • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of training programs for new and existing SUD Counselors to promote professional growth and clinical excellence
  • Provide clinical supervision for staff seeking licensure or certification
  • Coordinate and support the internship program
  • Maintain oversight of client charts and documentation standards specific to substance-use disorder
  • Medicaid training and oversight
Program Development
  • Stay current on evidence-based practices for substance use disorder treatment
  • Promote gender-responsive and trauma-informed care approaches
  • Provide input on program structure and service delivery
  • Recommend and implement evidence-based substance use disorder group curricula in compliance with DOC contractual requirements.
  • Improve and guide treatment planning systems and processes
Program Evaluation & Compliance
  • Design and implement program evaluation processes with leadership
  • Monitor and review outcomes data to guide program improvements
  • Ensure compliance with contracts, grants, and regulatory requirements specific to DHS 75 and DOC
  • Support data collection for DQA and grant reporting
  • Ensure regular clinical team meetings and case reviews occur
  • Recommend program enhancements to senior leadership
  • Review and Sign SUD paperwork
Qualifications

What You Will Bring (Qualifications)

Education & Licensure
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Substance Use Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Counseling, Behavioral Science, or a closely related field.
  • Current Wisconsin Independent Clinical Supervisor (ICS) credential preferred. Candidates who hold an active Wisconsin behavioral health license (e.g., LPC, LMFT, LCSW, Psychologist) and are legally authorized to provide SUD clinical supervision under Wisconsin law will also be considered.
Experience
  • Minimum of five years of clinical experience in the field
  • At least three years in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Experience in substance use disorder treatment
Expertise & Leadership Skills
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based SUD treatment practices
  • Experience implementing gender-responsive programming
  • Ability to lead teams, provide mentorship, and foster professional growth
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and compliance skills
