Job summary

Merakey is seeking a Classroom Aide for our Altoona, PA program. You will support certified teachers with instruction for children with disabilities, provide one-on-one and small-group assistance, monitor progress, and help with behavior support plans.

This full-time role runs Monday–Friday, 8:00am–3:30pm, with compensation up to $18.20 per hour. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage, retirement options, and wellness resources.

Qualifications

• Two years of post-secondary study or an associate degree/60 credits.
• 1–3 years of relevant verifiable experience in educational settings.
• Experience providing instructional programs and support to students with disabilities per IEPs.

Responsibilities

• Assist certificated staff with instructional programs and services.
• Prepare lesson materials and classroom displays.
• Supervise students in hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and during field trips.
• Monitor student progress and record data daily.
• Support individuals or small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
• Participate in parent–teacher conferences as appropriate.
• Assist with bus loading/unloading.
• Fulfill duties of a Behavior Technician as needed.
