Job summary

Columbus Technical College is seeking a full-time Chemistry Instructor to prepare lesson plans and evaluate student progress. The role is on campus with day and evening hours, teaching fall, spring, and summer semesters.

The candidate will ensure safety and compliance in classrooms and labs, develop course outlines, and maintain documentation. Strong communication and organization are essential, with experience using Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Chemistry from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Alternatively, Master’s Degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Chemistry.
• Experience with instruction in a postsecondary setting and learning management systems.
• Experience with analyzing student learning outcomes and course data.

Responsibilities

• Delivers effective instruction for Chemistry lecture and lab classes.
• Teaches fall, spring, and summer semesters.
• Ensures adherence to technical college and safety requirements in classrooms and labs by following established procedures.
• Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives and provides feedback in a timely manner.
• Develops course outlines, goals, and objectives in line with state standards.
• Maintains syllabi, lesson plans, testing, labs and other coursework.
• Requests and maintains supplies, tools, and equipment.
• Prepares and maintains required documentation and administrative reports.
• Keeps current with trends through professional development and reading.
• Meets with students and staff to discuss instructional programs.
