Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking a Full-time Chemistry Faculty member for a 9-month contract based in Indianapolis & Plainfield. The role involves delivering high-quality instruction, advising students, and collaborating on curriculum development and accreditation efforts.

You will contribute to student retention and success, participate in program management, and engage in community service while upholding FERPA and institutional standards.

Qualifications

• Master's or higher degree in chemistry from a regionally accredited institution.
• Master's or higher degree in any field with 18 graduate semester hours in chemistry.
• 3 years of teaching experience in a higher education setting (preferred).
• Leadership or supervisory experience (preferred).
• Background to teach organic chemistry (preferred).
• Teaching demonstration may be required if invited to interview.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging chemistry instruction using appropriate pedagogy and technology.
• Develop and maintain course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, tests, and assignments.
• Advise students and maintain office hours to support academic success.
• Collaborate on curriculum development, accreditation efforts, and program management.
• Contribute to community outreach and student recruitment efforts.
