Job summary

FleetForce is seeking a Full-Time Commercial Driver's License Instructor in Bradenton, Florida. The role involves training CDL students across classroom, skills courses, and behind-the-wheel sessions, following FleetForce curriculum to produce safe, proficient drivers.

Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, basic control skills, tractor/trailer coupling, shifting techniques, and maintaining student records. Weekend work may be required in a seven-day operation.

Qualifications

• Valid Florida Class A CDL with a minimum of 2 years of commercial motor vehicle driving experience.
• Current DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one.
• Clean driving history and ability to pass pre-employment drug/alcohol test.
• Effective English communication skills.
• Ability to complete tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to endure Florida’s hot summer temperatures while standing outdoors for long periods.
• Willingness to work weekends as needed, since FleetForce operates 7 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle pre-trip inspections training
• Teach basic control skills, including backing into designed areas
• Instruct on uncoupling and coupling tractor/trailer units
• Train students on basic shifting techniques, including double clutching
• Guide students to safely operate commercial vehicles on rural and city roadways
• Prepare and maintain student records including training activities, test results, and performance evaluations
• Perform other duties as assigned by Lead Instructor or School Director
