Essential Functions: Customer Service
- Provides SMART customer service at all times through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
- Seeks out customers to understand their needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
- Listens to and responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions, walking them through projects when necessary.
- Demonstrates sincere appreciation to customers.
- Communicates information to customers regarding stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information related to Lowe’s programs.
- Contacts customers regarding delivery or coordinates with the truck driver to call the customer.
In-stock
- Plans delivery activities, prints loading tickets, and delivers merchandise according to schedule to ensure on-time delivery of orders.
- Pulls merchandise, builds and bands delivery loads, and loads trucks within payload limits according to delivery order.
- Inspects the condition of products (e.g., appliances) before loading for delivery or assisting customers with loading.
- Matches items on invoice with quantities loaded by verifying descriptions, items, and model numbers.
Clean and Safe Stores
- Ensures that loads are safe, secure, and within Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Updates delivery and route status (e.g., on-site, completed) on system for tracking purposes.
- Unloads, installs, and tests appliances upon delivery.
- Verifies daily vehicle inspections and reports, ensuring cleanliness, maintenance, and repairs for delivery vehicles and equipment.
- Completes DOT reporting to maintain certification and compliance.
- Detects signs of shoplifting, theft, and security risks, communicating promptly to management or Asset Protection.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of store and work areas per standards.
- Maintains a safe work environment, conducting safety reviews and noting hazards.
- Adheres to safety requirements relevant to the role, such as top stock safety and use of safety devices.
- Operates store equipment as needed depending on the department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Class A CDL License; in some locations, a Class B CDL License with air brake endorsement is required.
- Valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one upon employment.
- Ability to pass MVR screening.
- Ability to obtain relevant sales licensure or registration.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Ability to comply with DOT and CDL regulations.
Preferences:
- 1 year experience driving semi-trucks/trailers or certification from a driving school.
- 6 months experience in in-home delivery or retail customer service.
- 3 months experience operating a forklift or Moffett for loading/unloading.
