Job Summary:
The caregiver is responsible for personal care and assisting with activities of daily living in clients’ homes. All employees must align with FirstLight’s philosophy and mission, aiming to help individuals maximize independence and reach their potential.
Caregiver responsibilities include:
- Providing non-medical care following established service plans
- Assisting with personal hygiene, toileting, bathing, oral care, hair, and skincare
- Helping clients in and out of bed, with walking aids if trained
- Meal planning, preparation, and feeding
- Medication reminders
- Encouraging prescribed exercises
- Staying with clients during shifts, reporting incidents and emergencies
- Using time management systems for clocking in/out
- Documenting services and reporting changes in client condition
- Adhering to HIPAA regulations
- Providing companionship and homemaker services
- Participating in quality assurance reviews
- Staying current with technology and software
- Supporting company policies and procedures
Ideal candidate: Must meet minimum qualifications including a high school diploma or GED, related experience or training, personal care certification, valid driver’s license with insurance, and effective communication skills.
