Job Summary:

The caregiver is responsible for personal care and assistance with daily activities in clients’ homes. All employees must align with FirstLight’s philosophy and mission, aiming to help individuals maximize independence and potential.

Responsibilities include:

1. Providing general attention to non-medical needs based on an established Service Plan, including personal hygiene, toileting, bathing, oral care, hair, and skincare
2. Assisting clients in and out of bed, using walkers or wheelchairs when applicable, excluding mechanical lifting equipment unless trained and certified
3. Helping with walking and mobility
4. Planning, preparing, and assisting with meals
5. Providing medication reminders
6. Encouraging prescribed exercises as instructed by healthcare professionals
7. Remaining attentive during shifts, reporting incidents, and responding quickly in emergencies
8. Using FLHC-required systems for clock-in/out procedures
9. Documenting services and reporting changes in clients’ conditions
10. Adhering to HIPAA regulations
11. Providing companionship and homemaker services
12. Participating in quality assurance reviews
13. Staying current with technology and software
14. Supporting company policies and procedures

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; or 1-3 months related experience/training
2. Ability to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members
3. Personal Care Training Program Certification and competency
4. State-required certifications, if applicable
5. Valid driver’s license and auto insurance, if applicable
6. Ability to understand instructions and communicate effectively in writing and verbally
