Qualifications

• Valid Mississippi Class B Commercial Driver License with 'P' and 'S' endorsements can be obtained within 180 days of employment.
• Must be insurable by district insurance carrier.
• Must be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform major and minor motor repairs on school buses, cars, trucks, and district equipment.
• Conduct body repairs, including painting and glass repairs.
• Check wheel alignment and perform routine maintenance services.
• Respond to vehicle breakdown emergencies during nights and weekends.
• Utilize computer to diagnosis mechanical issues.

Skills

Satisfactory driving record

Ability to perform gas and diesel engine tune-ups

Knowledge in body repair of large vehicles

Ability to lift 100 lbs.

Effective communication with school bus drivers

Use of computer/smartphone for diagnostics

ASE certification

Education

High School graduate or equivalent
