Job summary

Miller-Keystone Blood Center in Reading, PA is hiring a Full-time Bloodmobile Driver to support community blood drives. You will load supplies, drive to events, set up, assist on-site, and return to the center.

The role requires a DOT Medical card, driving a box truck, and proficiency with Outlook and Microsoft Office. Expect a variable schedule with weekend/holiday rotations and a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• DOT medical card required; driving a box truck or larger vehicle preferred.
• Experience using Outlook and Microsoft Office.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and operate basic tablets/computers.
• Excellent communication with donors and staff; reliable and flexible.
• Willingness to work a variable schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Load vehicles, drive to blood drive locations, set up and assist with drives.
• Greet donors, visitors and staff in a friendly, professional manner.
• Provide accurate information and resolve inquiries promptly and respectfully.
• Complete vehicle and blood drive documentation per SOPs and standards.

The Full-time Bloodmobile Driver position in Reading supports MKBC by facilitating successful blood drives within our community. What you will be doing:

• Loading vehicles with necessary supplies, driving to blood drive locations, set up and assist with the blood drive, then pack up, return to the blood center and unload equipment.


• Greeting and assisting donors, visitors, and clients in a friendly yet professional manner.


• Providing accurate information, responding to inquiries, and resolving issues promptly and respectfully.


• Completing vehicle and blood drive documentation in accordance with our company's standards.


• Perform additional tasks as assigned, including training, becoming familiar with new and updated SOP's, and assisting with special projects as needed.

What you will bring to the role:

• DOT Medical card, and experience driving a box truck or larger vehicle preferred.


• Experience in Outlook, Microsoft office and with basic tablets and computers. (preferred)


• The ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.


• Excellent communication (verbal, written, and listening) to engage donors and employees of all backgrounds.


• Strong work ethic including attendance, trust, flexibility, and reliability.

• A passion to work in a fast-paced environment and handle changing priorities to meet the needs of the blood center.

Additional information:

This position reports directly to the Collections Logistics Supervisor in the Collections Department and will be located at our Reading center. To best meet the needs of our donors and community, this position works a variable schedule which may include:

Full-Time - Hours and days vary depending on scheduled blood drives. Schedule is made two weeks in advance for work-life balance.
