Job summary

Miramont Behavioral Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Associate I to work under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team. You will monitor and report patient behaviors and assist in delivering continuous care.

You will support activities of daily living, maintain patient records, participate in de-escalation, and respond to crises and medical emergencies, contributing to a safe, structured environment for recovery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months or more experience with the specific population of the facility preferred.
• Knowledge of common psychiatric disorders and/or dual diagnosis and various treatment modalities of the population served preferred.
• CPR and de-escalation certification preferred (training available upon hire).

Responsibilities

• Ensures the wellbeing of patients and provides a safe, positive, supportive, and structured environment.
• Maintains a constant awareness and supervision of patients.
• Assists clients with activities of daily living (toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, hydration).
• Conducts safety checks and ensures supervision per guidelines.
• Checks patients for contraband and manages valuables.
• Interacts with patients and communicates observations to supervisor.
• Engages patients in activities to achieve treatment goals.
• Facilitates educational-rehabilitative groups (social, coping, independent living skills).
• Takes and records vital signs and reports changes to the clinical team.
• Charts in patient records timely and accurately.
• Applies de-escalation techniques and assists with seclusion/restraint when necessary.
• Assists with unit cleaning, admits charts, discharge process, filing.
• Initiates incident reports and coordinates patient transport as required.
• Receives shift report and provides thorough handoff to oncoming shift.
