Hyatt Place Houston / Downtown is seeking a Part-Time Bartender to join our lobby bar team. You will mix drinks, serve guests, and ensure a welcoming experience for our guests.

The role requires at least 6 months to 1 year of bartending or customer service, valid state food handler certification, and 21+ years old. You must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds, with availability nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Safety & Compliance: Check IDs and monitor consumption for a safe environment.
• Operations & Cleanliness: Keep bar stocked and maintain a spotless workspace.
• Cash Handling: Process payments accurately, including room charges and cash drawer balancing

What You’ll Do: Key Responsibilities

• Drink & Food Service: Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, garnished to perfection. You’ll also serve quick bites and menu items from our lobby bar menu.
• Guest Interaction: Greet guests with a smile, offer thoughtful menu recommendations, and create a welcoming atmosphere for everyone who visits.
• Safety & Compliance: Check IDs to ensure guests meet the legal drinking age and monitor consumption to promote a safe and enjoyable environment.
• Operations & Cleanliness: Keep the bar stocked with beer, wine, liquor, and glassware. Complete opening, closing, and cleaning duties to maintain a spotless and organized workspace.
• Cash Handling: Process payments accurately, including room charges and balancing the cash drawer.

What We’re Looking For: Qualifications

• Experience: At least 6 months to 1 year of bartending or customer service experience, ideally in a hotel or restaurant setting.
• Certifications: Valid state food handler certification and unexpired alcohol awareness certification (e.g., TABC in Texas).
