Job summary

The Urban Electric Co. is hiring a friendly barista to join our on-site cafe team at our Charleston headquarters. You will prepare and serve beverages, replenish supplies, and help with event support as part of a collaborative marketing and operations team.

Ideal candidates have barista or cafe experience, are reliable with lots of energy, and enjoy working both with others and independently. Starting pay is $17–$19 per hour, with benefits and opportunities for growth.

• Reliability, punctuality and energy are essential.
• Barista or cafe experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve beverages to employees and guests, including espressos and lattes.
• Replenish coffee thermoses in the breakrooms.
• Restock snacks and supplies in breakrooms.
• Keep the coffee bar and breakrooms clean and organized.
• Assist with the daily breakdown of the coffee bar.
• Maintain a clean workspace and equipment area.
• Collaborate with head barista and marketing for events.
• Occasional after-hours event support may be required.

Who You Are:

Our ideal candidate is someone who is friendly, outgoing and enjoys interacting with people. This person must be able to work with a team, but also be able to work on their own. This person is reliable, on time and has loads of energy! Barista or cafe experience is preferred.

A Day in the Life:

• Preparing and serving beverages to employees and guests. This will include some specialty drinks (espressos, lattes, etc).
• Replenishing coffee thermoses in the breakroom(s).
• Replenishing snacks and supplies in the breakroom(s).
• Keeping the coffee bar and breakroom clean (wiping counters and tables, sweeping the floor, wiping out microwaves, weekly refrigerator clean out, etc).
• Assisting with the daily breakdown of the coffee bar.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work space.
• Works closely with head barista and internal marketing team for special events.
• Occasional after hours event help may be required.
• Emptying trash and recycling throughout the day in our breakrooms.
• Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, trainings, events, etc.
