Tops Markets in New York is seeking an experienced Bakery Manager to oversee storage, preparation and maintenance of bakery products, inventory control, ordering, receiving and labor management.

The role requires strong organizational skills and a commitment to attentive customer service, while ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.

The Manager will lead bakery associates, manage shifts, and strive to maximize sales while controlling shrink and ensuring sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions.
• Possess basic computer skills.
• Possess strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow regulations and company policies for Bakery operations, safety, and sanitation.
• Achieve financial goals such as sales and gross profit maximization.
• Minimize shrink through proper handling and storing of product.
• Take customer orders accurately for cakes and bakery items.
• Adhere to policy in processing, preparation, and packaging of product.
• Complete all necessary paperwork for the Bakery Department.
• Select, train, and develop Bakery associates.
• Ensure supplies are at acceptable levels and fulfill orders as needed.
• Direct subordinates in action plans and goal attainment.
• Maintain a clean as you go environment to ensure sanitary conditions.
• Perform tasks as assigned by the ASM or Store Manager.

SUMMARY

The mission of all Tops associates is to adhere to the Tops vision of providing a friendly neighborhood store that saves the customer time and money. Bakery manager must possess reasonable knowledge in storing, preparing, and maintaining bakery products, as well as demonstrate competency in inventory control, ordering and receiving product, and labor management. Strong organizational skills, as well as prioritizing multiple tasks are required. Manager is responsible in setting an example in providing attentive and courteous customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow all Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as company policies regarding Bakery operations, safety, and sanitation
• Achieve financial goals such as sales and gross profit maximization
• Minimize shrink through proper handling and storing of product
• Take customer orders accurately for cakes and other specialty bakery products
• Adhere to company policy through proper processing, preparation, and packaging of product
• Complete all necessary paperwork relating to Bakery Department
• Selection, training, and development of Bakery associates
• Ensure supply levels are at acceptable levels, fulfill orders as needed
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Direct subordinates in implementing plan of action and goal attainment
• Minimize shrink through proper handling and storing of product
• Maintain and enforce a “clean as you go work environment to ensure sanitary conditions
• Perform tasks as assigned by the ASM or Store Manager

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 18 years of age
