What You Will Do

All Lowe’s associates deliver quality customer service while maintaining a store that is clean, safe, and stocked with the products our customers need. As a Back-End Clerk, this means:

• Meeting the customer needs during a return and helping find the correct product replacement.
• Ensuring merchandise meets Lowe’s quality and safety standards and processing returns efficiently.
• Engaging in safe work processes including the proper disposal of returned items.
• Ensuring merchandise is accurately accounted for, replenished, and prepared for customers.
• Validating that the correct merchandise is being moved in and out of the store when appropriate.

Additional Responsibilities

The Back-End Clerk processes returns, manages procedures related to Centralized Return to Vendor, and appropriately disposes of items. They contact vendors for replacements or credits, return merchandise to the floor, and handle freight and merchandising fulfillments. The role involves processing paperwork for shipments, physically moving stock, scheduling shipments, and checking order quality and accuracy. The role requires excellent communication skills with customers, vendors, and manufacturers, and organizational skills to be successful.

Travel Requirements

This role does not require regular travel but may occasionally involve travel for meetings, training, or support to neighboring stores.

What We're Looking For

• Hourly Full Time or Part Time: Generally scheduled 39 to 40 hours or up to 25 hours per week; additional hours may be required based on store needs.
• Availability for evening and overnight shifts on weekdays, and possibly weekends.
• Physical ability to perform tasks involving prolonged standing, sitting, and lifting (minimum 25 pounds).

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.
• Ability to obtain any required sales-related licensure or registration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience processing merchandise receiving paperwork.
• Experience with store inventory receiving and administration.
• Experience in warehouse data entry or bookkeeping.
• Experience communicating with vendors or customers about returns, payments, or contracts.
• Retail experience in accepting or processing returns.
