Southwestern Illinois College is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Aviation Maintenance Technology Instructor for the Aviation Maintenance Technology Program in the Technical Education Division. Start depends on candidate availability and program calendar.

The role involves developing, teaching and maintaining lecture and laboratory courses in Airframe and Powerplant, in traditional and computer-aided environments, plus assessing student performance and collaborating with other faculty to

Qualifications

• Two years teaching or corporate training preferred.
• FAA instructor requirements per Board of Trustees and FAA must be met.
• Three years of aviation, air transportation, or military experience as an A&P mechanic.
• FAA A&P license from a Part 147 school required.
• Strong communication, organization, interpersonal and advising skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, teach and maintain lectures and labs in Airframe and Powerplant.
• Assess student performance and collaborate on instructional effectiveness.
• Work in traditional and computer-aided environments.
• Participate in professional development and college committees.
