Responsibilities
- Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and circulate throughout the store.
- Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
- Promptly and accurately process guest purchases and returns using the Point‑of‑Sale system, including making correct changes, placing merchandise in a bag, providing a receipt, and ensuring top‑notch guest service.
- Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; answer calls promptly, courteously, and professionally; escalate customer issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
- Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, such as new title reservations, trade‑in programs, and Pro Rewards loyalty.
- Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Observe associate performance and provide timely feedback to the Store Manager; address unsatisfactory performance as directed.
- Provide recognition and feedback to store associates and document performance in the Workday HR system in partnership with the Store Manager.
- Ensure associates complete onboarding and compliance training prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure knowledge of company policies, inventory control, loss prevention practices, safety, and ethics.
- Schedule store associates to follow guidelines and ensure breaks and meals are accounted for; supervise staffing levels to maintain exceptional guest service.
- Approve payroll, manage paid time off requests, and verify pay for associates.
- Keep all areas of the store clean, organized, and merchandised; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order.
- Ensure Omni-Channel orders are fulfilled and shipped daily.
- Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; conduct safety precautions and inspect packages at closing; escalate issues to the Store Manager as needed.
- Support the store team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties.
- Perform store inventory counts, stock and restock merchandise, and move products to ensure an organized and alphabetized sales floor.
- Balance daily transactions, complete closeout paperwork, and manage cash and bank deposits per policy.
- Verify shipments for discrepancies, record discrepancies in the POS, and communicate issues to management; conduct regular inventories.
- Process defective stock recalls and stock pulls, ensuring proper labeling and packing lists.
- Maintain safety awareness and report injuries promptly; keep store records neatly organized and up to date.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to sales associates in the absence of the Store Manager; adhere to all company policies and opening/closing procedures.
Qualifications
- Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
- At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
- At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
- Video game knowledge preferred.

- Military knowledge relevant to stores on military bases where applicable.

Benefits and Compensation
Compensation $10.75 - $14.75
Benefits Full-time store positions are eligible to participate in incentive programs, 401(k), paid time off, dental, vision, and health insurance. Additional incentives may apply.
