When you join our team as an Assistant Store Manager, you’ll take on key store management responsibilities including supervising daily store activities, ensuring overall store performance, managing schedules, and developing operational plans while identifying training opportunities to grow the team.
Position Type: Full-Time
Average Hours: 38 hours per week
Starting Wage: $25.00 per hour
Wage Increase: Year 2 - $26.00 per hour
Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist the direct leader in developing and implementing action plans to improve results
- Communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports
- Identify training and development opportunities for team members
- Understand and promote company strategy and core values to foster teamwork
- Monitor local market environment and advise on necessary adjustments
- Provide product feedback and make recommendations on inventory
- Participate in interviewing store personnel
- Communicate updates, milestones, and concerns within the team
- Ensure adherence to inventory, product handling, and cash policies
- Resolve customer concerns in the absence of the direct leader
- Identify hazards and maintain store safety and equipment
- Maintain store cleanliness and signage standards
- Assist with stock levels and product merchandising
- Ensure product quality, freshness, and signage accuracy
- Support payroll, inventory, and training efforts
- Supervise daily team operations and escalate issues when necessary
- Ensure team completes responsibilities to provide excellent customer service
- Follow company policies and protect confidential information
- Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
- Stock merchandise, lift up to 45 pounds, and perform physical tasks as needed
- Regularly sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, and walk within the store
Job Qualifications
- Must be 18 or older
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Provide excellent customer service and lead others
- Develop rapport and communicate effectively
- Interpret company policies and set performance goals
- Manage budgets, personnel costs, and expenses
- Operate cash register accurately
- Safely operate store equipment
- Excellent communication skills
- Stay organized and detail-oriented
- Meet legal requirements for handling alcohol (if applicable)
Education And Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- At least 3 years of retail experience
- Management experience preferred
