Job summary

Chileda Institute Inc. is seeking an Adult Family Home (AFH) Caregiver to work with residents, teaching life skills, ADLs, social and communication abilities, and behavior modification according to eachISP.

Responsibilities include supervising residents, assisting with personal care, administering medications, supporting independence, light housekeeping, and attending community activities during shifts. Applicants must be at least 18 and have suitable behavioral skills, with preferred experience

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must demonstrate behavioral skills and judgment conducive to role modeling appropriate skills for residents.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise residents in group homes.
• Assist with personal care such as bathing, grooming, nail care, and oral hygiene.
• Administer prescribed medications as needed.
• Support residents to reach independence and perform daily living tasks.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks as needed.
• Handle minor maintenance duties (e.g., changing a light bulb).
• Follow treatment plans in ISP.
• Transport residents to activities.
• Attend community outings during shifts.
• Prepare meals and teach residents to cook.
• Complete daily resident documentation.
