Job summary

Open Arms Link seeks compassionate AFC Home Caregivers to provide direct support to adults with developmental disabilities and other needs in AFC homes. You will assist with daily living activities, medications, meals, and housekeeping, while promoting dignity and independence.

You will observe health changes, document care, follow plans and policies, and respond to behavioral or crisis situations using approved de-escalation techniques. Training and ongoing certification are required.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Ability to work respectfully with individuals with developmental disabilities, mental illness, and other support needs.
• Strong communication, documentation, observation, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to complete required training and maintain certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobility.
• Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation.
• Monitor and report changes in residents' health and behavior.
• Support residents in developing independent living skills and participate in community activities.
• Prepare meals and assist with dietary and hydration needs; ensure a safe living environment.
