Job summary

Okaloosa County Clerk of Courts in Crestview, FL is seeking a Web Developer to design, develop, maintain, and improve public websites, internal apps, and integrations. You will ensure secure, accessible, high-performance services for public access and staff.

The role covers front-end and back-end work with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, C#, .NET, and SQL Server, plus API integrations, deployments, and ongoing optimization. Office-based with occasional on-site/remote updates as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and professional experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
• 2-3 years of web development experience with C#, .NET, JavaScript or similar stack.
• 2-3 years of experience with SQL Server or similar relational databases.
• Experience developing, consuming, and troubleshooting RESTful APIs.
• Experience using Git, GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps or similar tools.
• Familiarity with cloud hosting environments, web servers, DNS, SSL/TLS, deployment pipelines, and CI/CD concepts.
• Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG), SEO, performance optimization, logging, and monitoring.
• Knowledge of public-sector information security requirements (HIPAA, CJIS, FIPS140-2).
• Knowledge of Clerk departmental operations and workflows.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy websites and web applications used by Clerk staff and the public.
• Maintain and enhance existing applications for reliability, performance, security, and accessibility.
• Front-end development using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks.
• Back-end development using C#, .NET, SQL Server, REST APIs, and related server-side tech.
• Develop and maintain integrations between web apps, databases, APIs, and vendor systems.
• Implement secure coding practices and support information security requirements.
• Oversee deployment processes, version control workflows, and documentation.
• Monitor analytics, SEO, uptime, performance metrics, and logs to resolve issues.
• Assist with technology upgrades, testing, and system rollouts with IS team.
• Review and maintain documentation for processes, config, architecture, and changes.
• Participate in vendor meetings and technology evaluations.
